Duration:
This is a 1 day course running from 9:45pm to 5pm.

The standard Gua Sha course teaches you the knowledge and skills to perform this scraping technique with various tools and covers various parts of the body.
The course consists of theory and practical hands on application learning Gua Sha using the equipment provided on the day. It also includes the advanced techniques that were previously taught separately.
You will receive a full certificate for the course, which can be upgraded to an optional diploma by submitting 10 Case studies 3 months after course completion. These are assessed by an external examiner (examiner fee applies).

The course explains the main Gua Sha Skills and protocols, so you can learn these highly effective techniques, including how to use not only the tools provided, but also others described in the course, as well as when and where to use them and why.
We have discussions on diagnostics and time saving techniques to show you exactly where needs a Gua Sha treatment and what areas can be left alone.
Unlike many UK courses, we show authentic techniques as used in real Chinese clinics using traditional tools, that provide you with the ability to give your clients the best results.
Assessment is by observation of students performing the therapy during the practical sessions to establish safe practice. Each student must be observed practising correct, safe, protocol in order to be deemed safe to practice and gain a full certificate. (equates to 6 hours CPD).
Optional Diploma Available (equates to 26 hours CPD).

Reviews

“I felt welcomed and thoroughly enjoyed being part of the Traditional Gua Sha course, The tutors are great and are obviously passionate about what they do, they are enthusiastic about helping their students gain good and useable skills in which to transfer to their clients. I felt relaxed and also challenged to test and carry out the techniques we went through, with their careful eye on things , we all had great results and adjusted as we needed to , can’t wait to go back and learn cupping ! Thanks 🙏🏼”

“I attended the Traditional Gua Sha course, and can highly recommend it and Total Therapy Training as a whole. I have had fantastic communications from start to finish. They are highly knowledgeable and the tutor is fantastic, the location is central with parking nearby. I travelled from Leeds and it was well worth the journey. I’m looking forwards to my next visit.”

FAQS

Gua Sha is a highly powerful stagnation and heat reducing technique as well as dealing with physical and physiological aspects of the issue, whereas the IASTM techniques that do not leave the red marks just deal more with the physical aspects of facial dysfunction.

Yes, Gua Sha isn’t just for muscles, you can treat joint pain and health issues, and so relieve cold symptoms too. In fact it can be used as a way of encouraging the body to “sweat the disease out”.

This therapy can be used for clinical or cosmetic purposes and is not only an IASTM (Tool Assisted Soft Tissue Massage) therapy but is a deeper and stronger stagnation release than other IASTM techniques give to the client.
