Optional £49 fee to upgrade to a diploma via case studies verified by an independent external examiner.
Duration:
This is a 1/2 day course running from 1:45pm to 5pm.
NMR (Neuro Muscular Release) and PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation) are both techniques to enhance manual therapy treatments by releasing and lengthening muscles. NMR is one of the least used yet arguably the fastest muscle release technique, and is a static technique using pressure to aid the removal and release of tight and locked muscles. PNF is one of the fastest ways to safely lengthen muscles with fast effective stretching and release techniques and methods which can be mixed for optimum results.
The course consists of theory and practical hands on application.
There is no equipment option for this course.
We cover standard and advanced forms of Neuromuscular Release, including multi-directional NMR not taught in the UK. Manual therapists, having learned and understood this technique, use this all the time and, are not as easily able to work without it.
This course also covers FIVE types (not three or four as generally taught in the UK) of PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation) stretching, which provides one of the fastest results in any of the stretching and release techniques for your clients.
We will have in depth discussions on the theory behind neuromuscular techniques and PNF stretching, the uses and complications you may come across in clinical application and there is sdtailed demonstrations of each of the techniques of the course including practical course time to use and learn these on each other.
Assessment is by observation of students performing the therapy during the practical sessions to establish safe practice. Each student must be observed practising correct, safe, protocol in order to be deemed safe to practice and gain a full certificate. (equates to 6 hours CPD).
Optional Diploma Available (equates to 26 hours CPD).
