Location and Surrounding Amenities

We are within walking distance of Macclesfield Railway and Bus stations and there is plenty of shopping nearby (just ask the teacher for directions), plus on the last Sunday of the month, Macclesfield is host to the local artisan market which is named “The Treacle Market”.  We recommend asking one of the stall-holders why.

The car parks in the area are reasonably priced and free on Sundays.  The best priced one nearby is at Travelodge however it is small, and there is another car park available at Pickford Street, which is at the back of “Sports Direct” and very close to Aldi.  This is slightly more expensive but still quite reasonable and also free on Sunday.

We don’t recommend that you buy parking for the exact duration of the course, in case it goes on a little longer than scheduled.

Eating out

Bari Grill, near the Pickford Street Car Park, is the closest cafe to eat and serves a variation of food including burgers and breakfasts, although we do recommend pre booking using the menus we have in our kitchen area.  There are some other nice cafes very close by too, and Aldi is just over the road. Up the hill into the town centre are a range of cafes and restaurants as well as some places to get a tasty takeaway.
On the last Sunday of the month, the “Treacle Market” has a few stalls that sell meals and snacks, and is also good for a little shopping.

Macclesfield Travel Lodge is very close by and is a good place to stay, many of our students use this hotel and they have said that it’s a good standard, clean and if you book early, you can get it quite cheap. Also we have a business account with Travelodge which means that if you wish to book on one of our courses and stay over, we can provide you with a login that enables you to get a discount of their flexible rates, so you can have last minute cancellation flexibility in case you change your mind.

Sue Pengelly runs a lovely BnB nearby which a few of our students book in advance as she’s so friendly.   She only charges £35 a night too!

BOHOTEL is new to Macclesfield and is owned by Laura who’s Airbnb,  BOHOUSE comes highly recommended by our students.

Howard runs some lovely Serviced Apartments which also come highly recommended, especially if you are on one of our courses which last more than 2 days and want a little more room and want to cook for yourself.  Booking is via Booking.com on this link.

Talo Short Stay have a lovely 4 bedroom house that a group of people can rent from a 2 day period and is less than 10 minutes walk from us.  The house includes 2 en-suite bathrooms, a  lounge with kitchenette and Wifi.  There is a cleaning charge for each booking, but if you book for a number of nights, it is still only 1 charge for the whole stay.  You can see the house and book here: http://www.taloshortstays.co.uk/ or you can book via email using this address hello@taloshortstays.co.uk
