This limited availability, intensive two-day course from Dr Su (Bio in “Additional Information”), explores how Chinese medicine can be used to support female fertility, combining traditional theory with modern clinical understanding. It is designed for practitioners who would like to deepen their knowledge of fertility treatments and expand their clinical tools when supporting patients who are trying to conceive, both naturally and through assisted reproductive techniques.
The course begins with an overview of the evaluation process and the common diagnostic tests used in the investigation of female infertility. This helps practitioners understand the medical context their patients may be experiencing, allowing them to integrate Chinese medicine approaches more effectively alongside conventional care.
Participants will then be introduced to the use of Dong’s Acupuncture for fertility support, with a particular focus on strategies aimed at natural conception. Practical sessions throughout the course provide hands-on experience with commonly used fertility points within Dong’s system, helping practitioners develop confidence in applying these techniques in clinic.
The course also covers pattern differentiation in Chinese medicine and the use of Chinese herbal medicine in the treatment of female infertility. This includes an exploration of menstrual cycle therapy within Traditional Chinese Medicine and how the different phases of the cycle can guide treatment strategies.
Additional sessions focus on the clinical use of basal body temperature as a diagnostic and monitoring tool, helping practitioners better understand ovulation patterns and treatment timing.
On the second day, the course expands to look at how Chinese medicine can support patients undergoing assisted reproductive technology, such as IVF. Both herbal medicine and Dong’s Acupuncture approaches are explored as adjunctive therapies that may help optimise patient outcomes.
The course concludes with practical point work, discussion of commonly used fertility points, and an in-depth case discussion session, allowing participants to apply the knowledge gained across the two days to real clinical scenarios.
By the end of the course, participants will have a clearer understanding of how to assess and support female fertility using Chinese medicine, with practical techniques they can confidently integrate into their clinical practice.
