Paula Dean found Total Therapy Training in 2017, following a personal journey shaped by her diagnosis of fibromyalgia.

For four years, she managed daily pain while maintaining her demanding career as a secondary school teacher in computer science. After being referred by the NHS to learn self-acupuncture for pain relief—only to face long waiting lists, Paula decided to take matters into her own hands.

She enrolled in an acupuncture course with the goal of self-treatment, never imagining that this step would ignite a new passion and ultimately lead to a complete career transformation.
Her first course was in cupping, followed by ear acupuncture, and eventually a full acupuncture qualification. Paula was captivated and went on to complete nearly every course Total Therapy Training offered.

An early encounter with fertility acupuncture came when a friend was struggling to conceive. Though not yet fully qualified, Paula applied her new skills to help—and the result was a beautiful baby girl.
Over the years, fertility clients began to appear sporadically. Then, in 2020—just after the COVID-19 pandemic, Paula experienced a sudden influx of 10 fertility patients at once. That moment marked a turning point in her practice.

Inspired by this shift and her growing success, Paula took early retirement from teaching to focus entirely on her acupuncture practice. Remarkably, with her lifestyle change and dedication to acupuncture, her fibromyalgia symptoms disappeared completely.

Fertility acupuncture has since become Paula’s true calling. She now works exclusively with fertility clients, achieving outstanding results and helping many couples realize their dream of becoming parents.
